She keeps three plants on the windowsill
By the kitchen sink
Sometimes she will
Shred up a sponge on that cheese shredder thing
Then down the drain goes her wedding ring
So she called the Roto-Rooter with the long snake device
And by the time they were done
She could feel all the lice
Crawling around
The hairs on her arm
It reminded her of the green acres farm
And with herds and herds of small black sheep
She never could stand working for that creep
She punched his face instead of the clock
But she got fired before the crow could cock a doodle-doo
She climbed up a tall set of stairs to the top
And around a thousand steps she was tempted to stop
But she kept climbing like a squirrel looking for seeds
She softly sang a song about the dirty deeds
And how she would perform them
I believe she said dirt cheap
She got up on the rooftop and she sang a song for Pete
And one for his friend, he was more like a slave
You know they worked that feller like a surfer works a wave
He carried all the luggage, the cameras and food
He took care of all the horses, he kept them fed and shoed
He never rode them hard, he never put them away wet
If the horse ain't feeling good, well his sister, she's a vet
Pete he's doing great, he's still farming for food
Living off the grid and on the farm, he is such a groovy dude
He's set in the sea of time, everyone's a minnow
And don't forget to put three plants in your window
And give a bit to charity and give a bit to Jah
It's such a sweet philosophy, it should be made a law
Look out for helicopters and black SUVs
Don't walk under a ladder or you might catch a disease
It's too wet to plow, I ain't got time to dance
Green acres farm might be hell
But at least we don't have to dance
