Vogon Poetry

I woke up in the morning With a mind that's always storming I did not heed the warnings And now my thoughts are forming I took my pills with breakfast With coffee that was tasteless Perhaps if i could shake this Then i might not be faithless We've broken the sky and filled it up With answers that question even more Now we must ask if we want more They've come to save me from the apple's taste They say they want to save me from myself And when they get me i'll be like everybody else All by myself I thought about the scriptures And how they could be written A pleasant work of fiction A certain cause of friction But I'm not allowed to say that Some things should be sacred Go burn in hell, you heathen Oh, and have you found Jesus We've broken the mind and lifted up With questions that answer even more With wonder that carries us into the eternal They've come to save me from the apple's taste They say they want to save me from myself And when they get me i'll be like everybody else All by myself They came for me that morning They came when it was storming They came without a warning They came to change my thinking They want me to believe them They want me to agree with them They want me to receive Him They want me to believe in The stories that they tell me The answers that they give me The nonsense that they sell me But I'm already healthy So then they want to scorn me Then they want to mourn me Because they can't conform me Because they can't reform me So then they just ignore me But that's a little lonely So i try to engage them But they just want to judge me And sometimes hands are shaken Some are souls worth saving But I'm in the minority So they just ignore me Sometimes hands are shaken Some are souls worth saving But i'm in the minority So they just ignore me And sometimes hands are shaken Some are souls worth saving But i'm in the minority So they just ignore me Sometimes hands are shaken Some are souls worth saving But I'm in the minority So they just ignore me
