My Jesus Jesus Well I'm trying But it's tough to trust in anything when everything is dying And please don't get me wrong it's not that I think you're lying Just that sometimes trusting in you isn't quickly satisfying And it's like there's idols popping up everywhere around me That present themselves as floaties while they're steady tryna drown me Sometimes worshipping something isn't just falling on your face It's rejecting trust in God and putting something in his place Who's gonna save us from the thought that we're our own saviors Who's gonna save us from the thought that anyone but Jesus can save us We want heaven now but we want it in all the wrong ways, it's all about us It's everywhere literally We just want control From our jobs relationships our bodies cars and our clothes So low and behold, a situation built by us Where we complain about our lives to a God we told to hush We can't be God and be servant We ain't got the power because we imperfect We desperately need to fall in his grace We just gotta leave the throne and let him take back his place Tell me what you know about Jesus Don't love anything or anyone close to the way you love God Don't pursue a single thing anywhere near the way you pursue The Lord Don't put your hope in a man or a woman only Jesus can meet your hopes
