Coleman Hawkins and Benny Carter were influential jazz musicians. Coleman Hawkins, known as "Hawk," was a renowned tenor saxophonist who was one of the first prominent jazz improvisers. He played a key role in the development of the saxophone as a jazz instrument. Benny Carter was a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and arranger. He was highly skilled on the alto saxophone and trumpet, and his innovative arrangements and compositions helped shape the big band era.
