I Turn to You

George Jones, Tammy Wynette

About I Turn to You

"I Turn to You" is a love song by country music singer George Jones. It was composed by Max D. Barnes and Curly Putman. It was released by Epic Records as the third single from the album Wine Colored Roses in 1987. It heralded a downturn for the singer on the country charts, failing to make the Top 25, and reflected the changes taking place in country music at the time as the "new traditionalist" movement, with younger country artists like Randy Travis, dominating radio airplay. From 1993 to 2013, "I Turn to You" was chosen for re-release on four additional compilation albums by Sony Music Distribution, Madacity and IMG.

Rivers turn to oceans and flow on to the sea, embers turn to ashes, and love to memories.
Rain turns to rainbows and gray skies turn to blue.
But when the world turns on me I turn to you.

A thirsty man needs water.
A bluebird needs the sky.
A man needs his woman or he'll wither up and die.
Roses need sunshine. Violets need the dew.
But not half as much as I need you.

Deep in my soul, and always on my mind, forever in my heart, you're the light that shines.
Someone to hold when no one else will do.
When the world turns on me I turn to you.
When the world turns on my I turn to you.
