Herbie Hancock

Herbert Jeffrey "Herbie" Hancock (born April 12, 1940) is an American pianist, keyboardist, bandleader and composer. As part of Miles Davis's Second Great Quintet, Hancock helped to redefine the role of a jazz rhythm section and was one of the primary architects of the "post-bop" sound. He was one of the first jazz musicians to embrace music synthesizers and funk music (characterized by syncopated drum beats). Hancock's music is often melodic and accessible; he has had many songs "cross over" and achieved success among pop audiences. Feet don't fail me now
Embarking on a journey
My roots know where I'm from

I wanna chauffeur
When it's cold, I wanna show furs
I want a chain so thick it's hangin' off my shoulders
I want veneers on my molars (yeah)
Tony Motolla, I learned 'bout him from The Fugees (word)
Both my label owners black
Rappin' in a kufi still won't get you money (true)
Or recognition, so it's still sacrificial
Lookin' at the streets, and there's still too many Bishop's (too many)
But do we even care about these issues?
Yes, we do
Seein' more necks stickin' out
And they ain't even gooses
Revolt Black News is the one that I tune to (yeah)
I can't spell impossible (I can't)
I'm Tom Cruise (Tom)
I just hit Em impossible
Me and air juju (yeah)
My new growth won't ever relax
I'm learnin' alchemy (sulfur)
Low vibrations messing with my allergies (coach)
Rappin' on saxes got me in Saks Fifth (that's right)
Payin' taxes got me thinkin' 'bout biz like Nips (come on)
When my leaves fall off my branches (my branches)
Heathens fall to thy knees (heathens fall)
I'm at the gun range learning how the bullets bust (bust)
Hate got us by the balls, squeeze these
Gotta pay your dues, love
April in the summer
I've been crying like a muhfuck
Gotta save yourself
Dodge the devil like it's double dutch
Feet don't fail me
Took the stairs on my level up
I ran the whole journey in some ankle cuffs

Feet don't fail me now (fail me right now)
Embarkin' on a journey (that's a pot of gold)
My roots know where I'm from (my roots from the DNA of kings)
Descendant of a mighty tree, ow

Back at ya inside the Dinner Party
You know what time it is
When we play non stop music
The Dinner Party baby, gimme some more of that shit
