Winton Kelly was an American jazz pianist known for his contribution to the hard bop style. He gained prominence as a member of Miles Davis' band in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Kelly had a unique style combining blues and bebop influences, and his tasteful and melodic playing made him a sought-after sideman. He also released several albums as a bandleader before his untimely death in 1971.
