The Seonaidh (anglicised Shony or Shoney) was a water spirit in Lewis, according to Martin Martin. Dwelly defines seonadh (without the "i", a related form in Scottish Gaelic) as "1. augury, sorcery. 2. Druidism" and quotes Martin further.
