Glass Candy is an American electronic music duo from Portland, Oregon, formed in 1996. The band consists of Ida No (vocals) and producer Johnny Jewel (born John Padgett, synthesizers, guitar, general production). While the band's early work blends elements of No Wave and Glam Rock, their later work incorporates elements of Electronic, Freestyle, Disco, Hip-Hop, and Dance Music. The band is known for evolving through the years since their original collaboration, and experimenting with various musical styles. No and Jewel have long been considered trend-setters, having incorporated electronic drums and synthesizers into their recordings and live act as far back as 2003- decisions that garnered much criticism from peers in the Indie scene at the time. They have released a number of albums since the early 2000s, the most recent full-length being their compilation of unreleased demos entitled Deep Gems (2008). Their 2010 "Feeling Without Touching" EP gained them further prominence for its catchy pop sensibilities.
