Reykee’s come up into the music industry has been very unorthodox. As a Tanzanian artist, his rise into the music space wasn’t taken with any serious attention, as most Artists are expected to ‘come up’ In a certain way, but that wasn’t the am issue to Reykee’s concept of his music, and it is this kind of disregard that inspires his hustle, creativity, and consistency. Born Regnald kilawe from Moshi, Tanzania, The 23-years-old singer-songwriter, performer, and recording artist describes his sound as Afrobongo; a fusion of Tanzania's Bongo Flava with Afrobeats a cultural combination of two dialects, performed in bi-lingual and embodying Dance hall ,pop and Reggae genres. Drawing his musical influences from the classical likes of Wizkid,Omah lay,Rema and Patoranking his music is a testament to the ample of Tanzanian artists who do not want to be placed in a box.
