Do you remember the time we booked a last minute flight?
We drove to the airport in the middle of the night
A few hours later our plane had touched down
The Big Apple greeted us, “Welcome to Town!”
As we walked through the first season’s snow

What’s in a year but surprises, exploring and cheers?
And what’s in a year but getting older and facing our fears?
This is the time of our lives so while we’re still young
Let us take in the world and try to have fun and say
“Well, What’s in a Year?”

Do you remember the time when we broke the bed?
But then 2 weeks later we broke up instead
We got back together and took on the world
Through all of the challenges as they unfurled
And now we’re here still going strong

So what’s in a year but laughter and heartbreak and tears?
And what’s in a year but getting older and facing our fears?
This is the time of our lives so while we’re still young
Let us break down the walls and try to have fun and say
“Well, What’s in a Year?”

As we get older we start looking back
At all of the milestones that we’ve gone past
But yesterday’s gone and it’s not coming back
Make some memories today because it goes by so fast
And some day in the future you’ll turn around and you’ll say

“What’s in a year but children and working and pets?
And what’s in a year but getting older and facing our deaths?”
Through the little things, the big thing, the good and the bad
To the memories we cherish when we’re feeling sad don’t fear
It’s all in a year

So hold on to each night make each moment feel right
Every time you can play before it all slips away I say
“Make the most of each day!”
