The state of humanity
Is dependent on the aggregate of the individuals within it
If the majority of people live in ignorance
Then the world will dwell in ignorance
And ignorance breeds suffering
In this modern age
We believe we are too smart
And too technologically advanced for these so-called "primitive" ideas of philosophy
Religion
And spirituality
Because the words of our fathers and our fathers father's have been misinterpreted
The messages which were once gold have now been squandered
And replaced for a black mirror and some fancy buttons
You must first know yourself
And be yourself
Because within you is a great wealth
An untapped glory
Waiting for you to take hold of
No one can be the "you" that you are
And you could never be anything other than yourself
But the true self can be hidden
Cloaked in a fabrication
Swaddled in ego
Because in this world you've sought to defend yourself
And in this world filled with distractions
Glamour
Beauty
And all the other things they say your not
It is sometimes easier to fit in
Or perhaps worse
Take on an identity that was never your own
But you do not need to claim a particular box
Because you are
Above all things
A great light in this world
One that has the power to change the course of a generation
Or at the very least
Discover the depths of your soul
Find true peace
And enjoy your life
So I beg of you
Do not dim your light
And perhaps more important
Be kind to those around you
I believe in today's state of affairs, that is more important than ever
And if you truly understand these rules
And follow them above all others
You will make it to your destination
I promise you that
Both of course are important for this Tape
Which I call, "The Initiate"
It is not an easy course
If it was
Everyone would have great wisdom
But perhaps that is vain
For each day is an initiation
Each day is a doorway to new understanding
New wisdom
And new life
The Initiate must die a thousand deaths before he crosses the finish line
And he must carry his cross at all times
But that doesn't mean you won't stumble and drop it
Of course you will
But you must continue forward
You must die to your false self
So the real you can be born
A birth in which the heavens themselves fall from their great abode
In a wretched
Yet glorious fashion
Union with the divine
It is in this place you will come into being
You were "alive" before you say
But you were just a shell of your true greatness
This is more important now than ever
Because we are entering a new age
And because in this tale as old as time
A Great War wages
In the heavens
And down in the Earth below
Inside the hearts of men a tug of war takes place
And the prize of course, is one coveted across all space and time
A soul
A mind
And the hearts of all men
Do not confuse this with the end
You see just as the beginning is, the end will be
And all things will pass
So take heed and listen
Do not allow them to darken your hearts or twist your minds
Do not listen to the falsities spewed out in your direction
An opinion is fine
But a truth will not lend itself to a frivolous dispute
Love is far more important than winning any argument
This is a test of your will
This world will tempt you
Beg you forsake yourself
Or perhaps worse
Forsake your bredren to the left and right
Do not let it blind you
Those are the same people
Within you is a great a gift
And they wish for you to squander it
A voice they wish silenced
A mind they've asked you to forfeit
And a dream they want thrown a way
But you are above all things in this physical existence
You are your own greatest ally
Not because you are alone
But because Truth resides within a quiet mind and a pure heart
So when you realize the truth, you will see
A Sin is not an act, which god punishes
It requires no punishment
The deed itself is damning
Because we are of one body
And so now this tale as old as time, is ready to begin again
But it's important you know, it is darkest just before the sun rises
Do not mistake my words
I know this difficult task
I know this dark hour
And in this dark place, each step can be a fight
But you will do it
You won't lose heart so long as you believe
And your efforts will not be in vain
So hold fast to your truths
So long as they are true
And know that good times don't last forever
But neither do the bad
So once again
At the end of every great age, a culling takes place
The top of the pyramid is cut off to be saved
And the bottom done away with
This is the flood
But really
It's a metaphor; for your inner world
For your life
And for your progress as an individual
Do not be swept away in the tides
Do not follow those drowned in their own desires
Whether it be fame or fortune
They've already received their meager reward
Or perhaps not
But you
You have a far different path to walk
You can allow truth to be revealed to you
You can allow your hardships to transform you
If only you'd let them
You can make the attacks, which have come against you
Become your strength
To sharpen your blade
Quicken your mind
To rise from the ashes
So watch for your sign
And do not fear
I've prepared this vessel for you
It's a boat
They say it can weather any storm
And I believe that
So when you depart on this vessel
If you stay within its principles
If you show love and compassion
And stand for truth
There's a place for you amongst the stars
