I just feel the same whenever I write A glass for who died in vain to save us from plight I have to change my ways before I change my life You're a printed piece of a paper 'cause you're just my type Save us from us, deliver us from evil Help me save all of my people 'Cause I'm woke, you're asleep Covid-19 got you believin' you're sheep Just open up a book and you read And you'll realise that in real life, you're truly deceived I'm no preacher, I'm no teacher but I do it better than those who got PhD's I'd draft down a few promising essays Of how we've been hurt and oppressed for decades You may be qualified but won't conscientise, you teach but I educate I'm here to grow minds not just entertain Right-wing vs Left-wing but this ain't a soccer field I dream of company surrounded by liberals If you're a revolutionary and make it to 40 it's nothing short of a miracle I think about Lembede, I think about Biko, I always think about Muyembe I think about Josina, I think about how to be a great leader If you read through the Manuscripts You'd realise that being African is actually fabulous Even though we're oppressed, we have a lot of privileges We defeated the British, studied the eye and we built a lot of pyramids Neo-colonialism is still an issue presented by countries like China They're doing what Europe did prior Before our liberation, they came with no invitation, I know what they truly desire I'm a tree that'll grow into a forest So lost in my mind space, I believe I'm in orbit This ain't a speech, ain't a rap it's a poem I have to recite I am the past, the present, the future ooh what a delight Like Donald Woods when he met Steve Biko His mind changed and saw him as a hero So praise the long dead 'Cause they're all dead But the son's next His words are a success Boy I'm smarter than a student Guide my people through the Movement Never blinded by vaginas, boy I'm sailing like Newton Guide my people through the desert, got you thinking I'm Moses Got the mind, got the mic, you're being led by a poet Give you freedom, give you love like Thomas Sankara I got a son, I got a wife so I don't need another Will I die like George Floyd? When I try to be a voice? Or will I live, be IIconic like ms Peyton Royce? It took the death of a man for you to see the truth? 2020 been the year that's revealing the abuse Collin Khoza, Nat' Julius, Andile Mbuthu, End SARS. Black Lives Matter! but this breaks hearts You cried for George Floyd but not for us You weep for people over the Atlantic You wept for X but don't know Lumumba Don't know Samora but wept for Bru Luther It shows you don't see us as equal Think about America better than your people You idolise them but disown your own heroes? You think highly of a bunch of stars and an eagle? I write how it is I don't ever have to change Follow me, I'll guide you and help you mend your ways I'm not a holy stake so please don't make me cross Unattracted to your leaders, boy I'm not a blind moth I'm not gonna switch just to make it up the charts I'm gon' make it up the charts without breakin' my heart I hope you find peace and love in my wisdom Would she stick around if I get imprisoned? Would she stay or cheat and leave 'cause of distance I wonder, how will they view me when it's all said and done? Will they quote words of the "Son of the Sun?" Will they take me to the top and make me number one? Or let me die just to become another one? How many leaders you need but leave them for death? Is it Biko, is it Hani, is it Luyanda M? I speak a lot of sense but I'm still called White Feel like a stowaway 'cause I write off plight I'm the soul of revolution, it needs me to walk Always on my knees 'cause I'm talkin' to God I make money off my visions of course I'm a prophet I speak from my mind I'm conscious Soul
