I'm bout to hit the big 1-8
18 years doesn't feel too great
It's a milestone, sure but it feels the same
No different to the day that I was turning 8, uh
I think I've been too quick to judge
My life so far hasn't been too hard

Before I was in the land of the free
Before I made a name back in SYD, uh
Back when I was rapping like Chance
Learning how to sing well and do a better dance
I had a long-standing battle with my loneliness
Watching other kids from their two-parent homes
I was filled with a new kind of emptiness
Missing out on a real fam of my own
Mom said I was the man of the house
Little boy josh scared to open his mouth
Old enough to understand what this was about
But too young to realise the world flipped upside down
From place to place, from school to school
I was a smart kid, momma ain't raise no fool
Though I didn't see it yet I was damaged
And it took a few years but, damn

Finished primary, moving onto high school
Didn't know what I was bout to get into
Met a few people, they my brothers to this day
You know who you are, I don't need to drop names
Teachers in the music room helped develop me
Taught me things about my dream that I thought I would never see
Saw potential in a young man that I could not believe
I can confidently say that they made me me
The senior years were the worst
Physically I'm looking great but my mental's hurt
I spent a lot of time questioning my self worth
And my high school days took a turn for the worse
I felt like God abandoned me, I didn't have the strength
I wanted to cut short the length of the race
I'm thankful that the people round me lifted me up
I graduated, class of 2021 please stand up

I didn't mean to write the story of my life
It's more of a synopsis but the point is in the light
Every day be grateful cause it could be your last
I thank God that I have the life that I have
This story's still too short, I'm only 17
I'll prolly write another one with more stuff in between
But for now, a new chapter starts
