Or try to give some purpose to something they ain't make
I often wondered what it was that made the devil start smelling himself
That pride he had is the thing and the reason he fell
Like what would make somebody think they know more than God
But as I looked a little deeper I felt a pause

But also we so smart we all knew it
Everybody wants to be God
But nobody wants to see God

But nobody wants to say God

Our father God who bought me a plot in heaven

We want heaven now but we want it in all the wrong ways, it's all about us

It's everywhere literally
We just want control
From our jobs relationships our bodies cars and our clothes
So low and behold, a situation built by us
Where we complain about our lives to a God we told to hush
We can't be God and be servant
We ain't got the power because we imperfect
We desperately need to fall in his grace
We just gotta leave the throne and let him take back his place

Don't love anything or anyone close to the way you love God
Don't pursue a single thing anywhere near the way you pursue The Lord
Don't put your hope in a man or a woman only Jesus can meet your hopes
