Dennis Compton

Denis Charles Scott Compton (23 May 1918 – 23 April 1997) was an English cricketer who played in 78 Test matches and spent his whole cricket career with Middlesex. He was also an accomplished footballer, who played most of his football career at Arsenal.A right-handed batsman and left-arm unorthodox spin bowler, Compton is regularly credited as one of England's most remarkable batsmen. Indeed, Sir Don Bradman said he was one of the greatest cricket players he'd ever seen. He is one of only twenty-five players to have scored over one hundred centuries in first-class cricket. In 2009, Compton was posthumously inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame. The Denis Compton Oval and a stand at Lord's Cricket Ground are both named in his honour. more »

Couple niggas they called my phone say they proud of me
Told them niggas to hold the head and don't fall too deep
Young asl to be saying that it's too late for me
Tired of seeing my people in penitentiaries
Imagine struggling then you add in a gun
They want us to kill each other to them it's a two for one
They brought us up in this bitch now it's funny they want us gone
If we don't complete the mission the cops will finish us off
That's what make my soul cry
That's some shit that you cannot just blow by
Try to tell my niggas open your eyes
Cause it's so sad
We our biggest threats and we don't even realize
That shit make my soul cry
That's some shit that you cannot just blow by
Like I tell my niggas open your eyes
Cause it's so sad
If we stuck together we could make some big strides (Mmm)
I get it bro yea I know you're just tryna cash in
Ya momma struggling, you just want a fast fix
You bought a gun and tried to catch some niggas lacking
Plot twist, now ya momma buying a casket
Now was it worth it ya life is gon and ya mama hurting
Ain't no more chances for change and you know that's for certain
We kill each other in vain then act like it was nothing
It's like we don't know the pain to lose another person
But nigga just keep ya head up
Ya life is more important than
Keeping ya bread up
Ya life is worth more than the things you after
The problem is some of us don't think we matter
That's what make my soul cry
That's some shit that you cannot just blow by
Try to tell my niggas open your eyes
Cause it's so sad
We our biggest threats and we don't even realize
That shit make my soul cry
That's some shit that you cannot just blow by
Like I tell my niggas open your eyes
Cause it's so sad
If we stuck together we could make some big strides (Mmm)
They wanna control the choice and bodies of women
Cops is killing our brothers and fathers leaving they children
Black lives matter we yell it but they don't listen
The world is on fire I'm tryna find where the chill is
How would you feel if your ancestors was taken?
And there was no way that they can set a foundation
For you to grow
Some years later like way after the slavery
The same people that took em try to tell you to go back home
That shit just blows my mind
I swear that we just need to figure out our allies
But to be honest we
Do each other so damn dirty that even sometimes
I can't even tell whose more or less on my side
That's what make my soul cry
That's some shit that you cannot just blow by
Try to tell my niggas open your eyes
Cause it's so sad
We our biggest threats and we don't even realize
That shit make my soul cry
That's some shit that you cannot just blow by
Like I tell my niggas open your eyes
Cause it's so sad
If we stuck together we could make some big strides (Mmm)
