LL Rocked the bells - he was harder than hell

The city was live - respected on the map
Until one day when you posse attacked

Violence started, there was corruption
The end result - b-boy destruction
Party after party - jam after jam
The weak would hang - surrounded by the gang

Violent times and corrupted minds
In my pledge for peace, I've written these lines
I must emphasize, there are no lies
If you close your eyes, somebody may die

This is a warning, don't ignore
Though I told you before, I'll repeat it once more
Open your mind so that you aren't blind

Saturday night - a thousand people in the place
The party was kickin' with pounding bass
The people said ho! Cause I said so
You are my fan standing in the front row

Eric B on the cut, rocking with power
Rakim broke the mic, the party went sour
Possies clashing, rope chains snatching
B-Boys battling, danger unraveling

All of this fighting, leading to rioting
Sucker home boys on the floor perpetrating
The music stopped and they've called the cops in
A show which was rocking is now stopped

Instead of ignoring, you are roaring
Bum rush, they've kicked the back door in
B-boys burst in, tempers flaring
The innocent cursing, vengeful hurting

War erupting, enemies brawl
Head bang against the wall at the Concert Hall
Faces getting smashed, while bottles getting broken
Listen to my words cause wisdom has spoken

When you lack logic, circumstances can be tragic
There will be no magic when a gun is the gadget
Or knives or sticks or bottles or stones
They'll break you bones so leave them alone

You know who you are, and yes I'm blaming ya
You want hysteria, see wrestle-mania!
All the posies in effect, hold tight, y'all chill
The jam, it's yours, don't come here to kill

Just let the party rock and the people have fun
Forget about the violence, knives and guns
You must be mad, or mentally minded
You have been blinded, don't get excited

By this fighting, battling, ruling
Better yourself, boy just go to school and
Learn about Apartheid and South Africa
Regan, Gorbachev, Nelson Mandela

Overpopulation, Exploitation
Deprived Nation in starvation
No education, just devastation
Human rights in condemnation

World destruction, the system of corruption
World war 3, nuclear combustion
Socialism, communism, klu-klux klan
Martin Luther king, Iraq and Iran

Man, do you understand why a persona is a sexist
A rapist, a racist, I am just your lyricist
Resist and you will miss a message that's so clear
So clean out your ear, put an end to the fear

Educate yourself, boy, learn the ways of the wise
If you look at all the signs, you can read between the lines
Just open your eyes and don't chastise
All the people want peace, not violent cries

Hip hop is vital, please don't ruin it
Your excitement is why I keep doing it
Terminate it, it's just not fair
Put your hands in the air, to end warfare
