Common Sense

The easy, fast & fun way to learn how to sing: 30DaySinger.com
I was eleven when I started working Thirsting for money wanting to live like them other kids did So I spent every single day working at the street market For this guy, let's call him Tommy And Tommy was like an older brother Almost a father figure He taught me everything 'bout life and even introduced me to rap Matter of fact he's the reason I even started to rap Cause he would spend every single day talking 'bout Biggie and Pac, Fifty and Nas Talking who's wack and who's not And so through glorification, yeah I started to jot Even though out of those four greats three were shot And out of those three, two got got I didn't think much of it My mind was on the profit Through five years working with Tommy I realised that that life just wasn't for me I couldn't work for no one Had to be my own boss, doing my own thing But slaving for pay showed me the way Paving the way to a freer mind Cause through these hard times I gained respect for the hustle And people who struggle on the streets, it's a jungle So I stayed out of trouble Instead double down on the hustle and grind Hard times illuminated my mind with a mindset That didn't align with how they saw it Unconfined, you gotta watch it Cause they off the prophets if they can make a profit of it Yeah they off the prophets if they can make a profit of it Two choices; either go to school or the army I'm always questioning the things tryna charm me I see just how the arms be twisted And I'm way too gifted not to be lifted So f*ck if I'm ever giving in A life spent doing something you hate is not a life worth living So I'm going all in, paying homage to the greats Doing whatever it takes, no matter what's at stake Working every minute of every day I obsess about it, passion turned purpose I don't go a minute without it I go to sleep and I dream about it In my dreams I scream about it It's like I can't breath without it And you can't doubt it Know you hear the conviction in my voice Ride or die, my mind just leaves me no other choice Only feel peace when I'm gripping this pen So f*ck a break I feel better at work I've tried to right my wrongs But now I write my wrongs With these confessions on these songs Thinking bout where I am from, where I have gone, where I belong Outdone the rest now among the best is where I belong And I couldn't care less whether you think it's right or wrong Shit, you think I do this for you? Man I do this for myself, it's me, myself and I To me it's like therapy, the only way I get by So I just write what I would've liked Fight who I wanna fight Despite your opinions on if its wrong or right And if you don't like it then it just aint for you Man shut the f*ck up I aint taking nothing from you Cause they hate if you believe in yourself And they hate if you got a message to tell Like what the f*ck is up with that? Quit projecting your own limitations Sit your bitch ass down and do some contemplation Another persons success does not diminish your own Instead may I suggest You let that shit inspire you to start building your own throne And you would think it's common sense But common sense in not that common
