They call it animal welfare

Humane? that's only what they go around believing
Morally correct, yet masters at deceiving themselves and others too
The generation after learns nothing new
They create laws, legislative action, but our voice in court won't cause a reaction
And they're never gonna hear the screams 'cause all the suffering stays behind the scenes
A lobbyist group joins in the fight
They argue it out and they keep it airtight 'cause money talks, always gets the last word
