Seron

According to Moses Chorenensis, Seron was a town related by tradition to have been "The Place of Dispersion," on account of the dispersion of Noah's sons after the Flood. The name occurs in a footnote appended to The Complete Works of Josephus, translated by William Whiston. The town is named alongside a reference to another place in Armenia called The Place of Descent, thought by the natives of the country to be the place where the ark of Noah alighted. more »

This cold just seems so old
My soul, isolated by ice
Sedated by nights
Inside of a cave I've created
Like all eyes on me
But these images of myself and I
Seem to frequently
Fall off the shelves of my mind
They say this life is mine
But I'm not sure there's any gold
To be found under the floor
Nor behind those blinds
Or inside the four walls
Of my isolation
But if I can make it
To the next winter
I might be able to break through
Never mind a splinter
Never mind a cold
Been burning internally
So let this heat turn
The coal into diamonds
I'm on an island of fever
With lungs in a fortress
Breathing a fire
My lungs in a fortress
My soul in a portrait
You're on my doorstep
Should I let you in
Lungs in a fortress
Like a baby in forceps
Like they placed you
On the doorstep
Raised you like an orphan
They say you grown up now
Stand in your own strength
But lately you've been feeling
Like you haven't been born yet
This individualism as a religion
Is like a Merry Christmas
With no Mary to carry the infant
Butterflies still in a chrysalis
Defining our lives mostly
By keeping distances
So we shut our eyes and see
Shadows in front of us
Like some Greek myth
With lights fluttering
Under the lids
Longing to turn around
And reach out
But we too afraid people
Would freak out
If they should really see us
My lungs in a fortress
My soul in a portrait
You're on my doorstep
Should I let you in
Lungs in a fortress
Like a baby in forceps
Like they placed you
On the doorstep
Raised you like an orphan
They say you grown up now
Stand in your own strength
But lately you've been feeling
Like you haven't been born yet
This individualism as a religion
Is like a Merry Christmas
With no Mary to carry the infant
Butterflies still in a chrysalis
Defining our lives mostly
By keeping distances
My lungs in a fortress
My soul in a portrait
You're on my doorstep
Should I let you in
My lungs in a fortress
My soul in a portrait
You're on my doorstep
Should I let you in
