There’s stockings hanging on the wall this morning
Nothing’s really changed from yesterday
There’s tinsel hanging on a tree
Christmas lights above my seat 
That mark the start of christmas holidays
I must admit I thought that I was over
All of these strange festivities
Like santa down the chimney top
Carrots for the reindeer lot
But somehow I can’t seem to hold the glee

There’s something else that hides behind these feelings
Of happiness and joy that swell inside
Reminding me of things I know like stockings and the mistletoe
Are luxuries that I cannot deny
You see I’m very privileged this christmas
I have a bed to sleep and place to go
But other more misfortunate might have no one to talk to
Or even have to camp out in the snow.
