Snowy Daze
Always take me away
Out the window glimpsing
Inside, toasty reminiscing

Morning photons amplified on a frozen pond
Purple, crimson and orange Winter dawn
The leaves are all gone
And over the snow-covered valley there is a reflective calm
The smell of a fire, taste of cherry lip balm
Lace up my boots, 40 below troopin' it's on
Finding inner solace at times coldest
December solstice
Like life that's bitter, cold
I could be bitter and old
Like the Ice King
But that wouldn't be a nice thing
Today I'm staying baked like a cake, snowflakes like icing
A cabin at a hidden lake so enticing
Fireplace crackling, toasty, warm reminiscing
Spirits, names and faces that I'm missing
By the flames entranced
As they do their eternal dance

Snowball battles buggin' out
Frosty breath giggles
Tears turn to icicles
Glistening energy crystals
I must confess
Winter blues
Grey skies
Daylight savings time
Seasonally depressed
