One Saturday night at a honky tonk in Texas
It was gettin' late but nobody wanted to leave
They were pointing us towards the door, but I called out Pour one more
Let's have a toast for tonight is Christmas Eve

So the bar maid poured another round of whiskey
And said "That's it, you boys have had your fun"
Then in the door appeared, a big fat man with a great white beard
He said y'all don't go, the night has just begun

He said I've been around the world this evening
And I still have a few more stops to go
But I need to unwind, so if you all don't mind
The boys and I would like to put on a little show

Well in the blink of an eye they had their gear unloaded
And set up on that little stage in back
Just a big ole dog house base, and one snare to set the pace
A telecaseter and a vintage Marshall amp

Then the bearded man stepped out into the spotlight
He wore a brilliant Nudie suit of red
He counted down to 4, as his boot heel stomped the floor
He grabbed the mic, and this is what he said...

Now the joint was jammed and the band was really swinging
I was havin' a ball and feeling quite alright
I danced a dosey doe, with a bleach blonde Ho Ho Ho
We sang every Christmas song 'cept Silent Night

And then as if by magic the room was empty
It was Christmas Day and I was lying in my bed
It must have been a dream, at least that's what it seemed
'til I heard these words inside my aching head
