Coffee on her morning breath with cigarettes and Cinderella
Slips into her glass slippers, socks in the altogether
Recline a dining chair for a second I'm convinced she's
A hanging messy masterpiece by Wassily Kandinsky
Centimetres left of throwing up her second slice of toast
Another rollie fogging up the air like the holy ghost
Me, her and the retrograde in a mid-day three-way
I flick my Bluetooth speaker on and she's the kitchen DJ

The kettle whistling my favourite tune
Herbal tea in a red balloon
We're hanging in the halcyon
A biscuit and a Valium
We'll sit and sip and kiss our way through the afternoon

Drifting through the day in first gear with the handbrake on
Sing the lyrics out of time to our favourite songs
I'm full up of self pity but
My love we run this city
From the sofa with a coaster I'm supposed to be stressing
But it's hard to find the heart to when you look a bit like art and who's checking
Visions fading in your fuzzy freckled pools of ink
I'm not fickle but I'm flirting with the kitchen sink

The kettle whistling my favourite tune
Herbal tea in a red balloon
We're hanging in the halcyon
A biscuit and a Valium
We'll sit and sip and kiss our way through the afternoon

We'll sit and sip and kiss
And it's dismissive just to plead the fifth
(Tell me are you feeling this
Like I'm feeling this?)
We'll laugh and joke and take a toke
Is this flames or just a smoke?
(Tell me are you feeling this
Like I'm feeling this?)
We'll open up the sky a bit
An envelope of cyan it's Blue
(Are you feeling this
Like I'm feeling this?)
The afternoon subsides to evening
Know you're feeling what I'm feeling
(Darling that's the way it is
When we're feeling this)

The kettle whistling my favourite tune
Herbal tea in a red balloon
We're hanging in the halcyon
A biscuit and a Valium
We'll sit and sip and kiss our way through the afternoon

The kettle whistling my favourite tune
Herbal tea in a red balloon
We're hanging in the halcyon
A biscuit and a Valium
We'll sit and sip and kiss our way through the afternoon

Ah that is good
