On the day god failed to rule us all
He decided we must die

In devious dim bye and bye

He told me - I must write my name
Upon a scroll of death
To the day I should -rise to fame 
By giving up my breath

My heart has become strangely cold
Despite the leaping flame
All the cheers that shone, have now grown old
Now all seems, dull and tame

Aberrant shadows, on the ground
Centuries that have gone before
The solemn rise by highest mound
Arched above a hidden lore

They tell of realms, long and deep
Fat with the mangled and the slain
