[Chorus]

Change.
We say we want
Change.
Funny how things need to
Change.
After being wrong for so long.
How many more voices will say it?
How many more movements will it take?
How many more bodies are at stake?
How many more lives will be claimed?
For change?

Are we going to stop blaming wombyn
And anyone who has been a victim
To these misogynistic, patriarchal systems?
To these conditioned ways of thinking?
To these traditional ways of being?
To these divisive ways of seeing?
Have we
Forgotten that each of us is still breathing?
Coerced into believing
In a system that consistently mistreats?
Living in a quote un quote Man’s world
Is not an invitation.
I’ll repeat: Is not an invitation
For anyone to be
Raped, assaulted, sexually violated or violent.
One is one too much
Enough is enough—
Millions still Marching…
#1 Billion and more Rising.
#16 days and counting. #Me too. #Times up.
How many more campaigns and hashtags
Will it take us?
How many of our loved ones will be hurt?
How many more will be murdered?
#Sayhername
Say it again.
Remember Her face.
And remember His.
Feel the presence of our Kin.
Ignite from within.
Movement—Keep moving
What are you—Waiting for

[Chorus]

Are we going to continue to let
Government decide what is best for us?
The same representatives
Whose hands are greased
By big corporate lobbyists?
These Men in suits red taping the
Anatomies of wombyn’s bodies
Like they own the right to reproduction!
The epitome of toxic masculinity
Portrayed by the presidency.
Church and State is not separate. Just a
Mass control system to keep us in our places.
Too many followers and
Not enough quality leaders, and an
Educational system that is too stubborn to
Adapt to the metrics of meters.
Good-bye 2020! but
We still have mass corruption,
Mass consumption, mass incarceration,
Hidden and overt racism, sexism,
Nepotism, and classism, xenophobia,
Homophobia, transphobia,
All the phobias, all the isms,
And “all lives matter!”
Well Black Lives Matter! And
It’s not only a Black and white matter
When Asians and Latinx,
Indigenous and New Americans,
Pacific Islanders and Caribbeans, and
Every other geographic region have
Poured blood, sweat, and tears into a
Legacy their offsprings will carry.
Offsprings who are fusions and blends of
Ethnicities that represent a dream that is
Not quite American as it is of our
Ancestors that persevere through the
Fire and the rain and the
Wind and the terrain to
Grant us this opportunity for…

[Chorus]

Will we as a society hold people
More accountable for their
Abominable actions?
Will we challenge any of the systems
Operating on oppression?
Enabling insidious hatred and
Reoccurring microaggressions?
Will we address elected officials
Wishing to harm us?
Highlighting violence used to remind us
Survival of the fittest is the ultimate guidance
Perpetuating cycles of internalized silence.
Money trails lead back
To the spirals that bind us.
Fragile minds conveniently disguised
By a nation built up on lies
Hidden in plain site
Wearing suits and ties
Will we acknowledge
The sadness, the madness?
The baggage?
The differences in understanding?
The margins?
The intersectionalities?
The stereotypes, and the prejudices?
The denial, the displacement,
The erasing, and the blaming?
The listening that needs
To begin and continue taking place?
How long will we wait?
Will we speak to the fears
Running through the veins of
Our friends, our colleagues, and our Kin?
Will we call out our peers?
Or will we invite them in?
Will we learn how to create again?
Build up our imaginations like
When we were kids back then?
Will we instill power into future generations?
End cycles that restrict our aspirations?
Will we manifest healthy relationships?
Will we dive deep into our own consciousness?
Will we learn from our history or let it repeat?
Will we move our feet and voice our peace?
Are we ready to seek the lives we have been destined to reap?
Are we ready for ALL OF US to be free?
The world is waiting for change.

We need change…
We can't keep living this way.
We need change…
Change.
Is it worth the change?
Are we willing to change?
Change…
Will we?
Will you?
When?
