Empires will rust and crumble to the sea
Diamonds turn to dust, you won't remember me
Down to the letter, some like to call it destiny
Bar chart or Bible, your favorite words to set you free
Castles and kings are waiting to make their claims
Preparing for their day
Sure we've heard it before
From the back of a hall
There will be nothing left at all
Orchards seeded with all of the cherries you like
Monoculture of fruit to say you're right
Morning sun says that all will be okay
The tax man's coming, making sure he has his pay
Castles and kings are waiting to make their claims
Preparing for their day
Sure we've heard it before
From the back of a hall
There will be nothing left at all
From the soil to highest tops
Nothing left for you or me
