They say that if you want to write a song You take some notes and maybe add some words to sing along And usually within those words is some coherency But what if there wasn't And I sang Mortgages, cumulus, disconcerting termites Woodcraft storyteller, insecure daydreamer Coalescence, sundial, prefaces mobilize Watermelon blackbirds edge What if I just sang random words Got no consistency, just some semblance of melody These arbitrarily selected sequences of sounds Seem uninspired It's just like Carpentry intercepts trustful crosswind headcounts Eyelash nitrocellulose, jungle potluck sailboat Dedicated organism, wiretapping courtyards Disillusioned whaler's sash It seems this song leaves much to be desired It only has four chords, and it barely even rhymes But I've started something, I can't back down now So I'll keep singing Even if it's Gorgeousness, tentative metabolic moleskin Disrespected accolades, tangible suspicion Countermeasure paragraphs reassessing storybooks Drugstore transform surface spruce Once upon a time I wrote a song Got a melody and lyrics, played some chords and sang along But going in I knew there would be no coherency 'Cause they were just random words
