You tried to fill the pieces you were missing with pieces of me
And I gave them to you

Remember I came to you as whole, and I replenished myself to remain it

And painted you
With specks of grace and love and I stroked your beautiful face
All over this canvases space
My love is like art, intricately placed timeless ticking away

Deepest Maroons and teary-eyed ocean blues
I am still forever and a day in awe with you
And every time you stare, I feel as though
I can't let go of this paint brush that paints you
They call me an aesthete
Because I appreciate you
But maybe it's my fault, I didn't show you

Being in unconditional love is like being trapped inside a barbed wired cage

But I'm sure someone else will see your beauty and pick you
That is how humans work I guess
They see beautiful flowers and they pick them from their roots
They want a single person to themselves even if its detrimental to you
As long as they can parade your beauty
That belongs to now not only you, but to them too
All I want from anyone who loves me, is to be understood
My roots that form underneath are the ones you don't see
They dig deeply and they form off shoot roots, and those roots do too
I just want a gardener who appreciates me
Who knows how to take care of me properly
Without me extended my olive branch to teach you
Through loving you, I've learnt more about love
Loving myself and how much love I need to give in order to be not taken for granted
And how to truly express it
The thing about me is I'm not entirely expressive
And I worked hard on that for you
So that I know you could feel it
I have loved loving you in every moment that felt fruitful
Until those fruits felt too sweet but were rotting with guilt
