Folks wanna' pop off
Heard somebody yell "all lives matter" like that's ever been a real cause
I hear you shout it but do so with pause
All lives don't have a killer that's protected by laws
Uh, yeah and I'm rejecting these flaws
Got my hands up don't shoot, up against the walls
Black Lives Matter 'cus we all ain't respected
Your history's mandatory, mine's an elective
Silence is deafening
Matter of fact it can bring death to every single one of my brethren
And speaking out appears to be my biggest testament
If you're uncomfortable, well then I question your allegiance then
My temperature's hotter 'cus I am heated man
You testing my temperament, I don't need it man
You popping a peppermint call it Peter Pan
Blocking out the stench living life inside of Neverland
Uh, and this is everybody's life to live
Color don't matter if you recognize the price of it
So you can lend a hand if you try to understand
This ain't a thug mentality it's how we fight to make a stand
Discourse must be a dying art
Everybody's got a status to update to start
It's important we're connected in this social institution
But I'm sorry that your meme didn't start the revolution
It was too biased and left out some loose ends
Plus, you forgot your target was still human
Another speck on this dirt ball we call Earth
Fighting over the same call to add a verse
And I'm disgusted by a Trump supporter
But I see that their misguided view is simply out of order
And the arc of the moral universe is long
But it bends towards justice
So let's add a little substance
Ready made adjustments
I am because you are doesn't matter if we're cousins or not
I came here to blow up the spot
With a lot of metaphors that'll leave you in knots
But, should I keep it simplistic
I made a list of everyone taken from existence
Do you want me to read it
It's about a mile long I don't want to repeat it
But, it's got Oscar Grant scribbled on it
Eric Garner, Tamir, Mike Brown, Laquan it's
Too long, too long to stomach
Truth like a dash cam, ain't this what you wanted
Now I'm standing over trash cans burning in the street
While somebody yelling - stop man all we want is peace
But it's hard to see peace
When all we got is grief
I just want you to see
My humanity at least
While others riot over sports teams
We do it for justice and broke dreams
But it's confused on the tele screen
Make up like Maybelline
Media deceives
It's the cover up scheme
To motivate the scene
All you see is animals, not the activist in me
In the spectrum of right and wrong
I see a lot of Grey, Freddie so I write this song
