How could you hurt them? (Oh oh) How could you hurt them? (Oh oh) How could you hurt them? (Oh oh) They were just three innocent little children (Oh oh) Innocent little children (Oh oh) I had this dream when I was fifteen A man at my house, this scene was obscene Now my mind's got me seeing some things you wouldn't believe It feels so twisted and the outcome ain't clean Three young kids just mindin' their biz One game ends as another game begins And the youngest one braggin' like countin' up his wins While the other two threaten to kick him in the shins Old repairman was working on my house Touching up the siding was what he all about Chasing this man is what I'm all about Trying to figure out his focus 'cause I know it ain't the house He circled the perimeter, evading my peripherals Supposed to be a visitor, but now he actin' cynical Well maybe he's a predator, the story hits a pinnacle My mind is just his prisoner, but now he's freaked me out Chasin' this man is what I'm all about Trying to figure out his focus cause I know it ain't the house Trying to learn his motives to prep for the fallout This dude was so evasive so I stopped and called out (Hey) Caught up in confusion I left the kids alone One by one I noticed they were gone Then I walked around the back and saw a couple holes Three little graves filled with dirt, I suppose Then the man appeared grinning' assuming he was winning And my starting spinning while this man began singing Now my lid decides to flip and so I skim around my hip And grip a pistol and a mag, like I didn't even flinch And the mag went click, and the clock one tick And the gun had some kick, but I think it did the trick Now I kinda feel sick, four dead, one lived And my heart dropped like a brick, while I screamed and I kicked. How could you hurt them? Three innocent little children (What?) How could you hurt them? How could you? How could you? How could you hurt them? Three little children How could you hurt them? How could you hurt them? That's the tension in my head, I gotta take a couple aspirin Take the bite out of my visions, body's shaking, muscle spasms In my head for thirty minutes, the next morning, fighting phantoms While the night comes back in snippets, to the ER, get a CAT-scan And my boys came down to visit, my head's numb, it gets examined And it's fine, but I'm still livid, lots of fuel for my passions On the outside I am timid, on the inside, running rampant Is the anger that's transmitted, from offender to the kid well How could you hurt them? Three innocent little children (What?) How could you hurt them? How could you? How could you? How could you hurt them? Three little children How could you hurt them? How could you hurt them? Now my conscious thoughts grow absent, and my mind begins to fragment In my life, I've become stagnant, scared to show you my confliction Cause I struggle with attachment, this is my innate condition Unable to make advancements, in relationships, I quit or I guess you could say abandon all the people who ever loved me Well, I am sorry I let it happen, but now I'm in recovery But I can't stay here forever, cause I'm on a one-man mission On the inside build the pressure, gonna blow up any minute (Woah) How could you hurt them? Three innocent little children (What?) How could you hurt them? How could you? How could you? How could you hurt them? Three little children How could you hurt them? How could you hurt them?
