William Shirley

William Shirley (2 December 1694 – 24 March 1771) was a British Army officer and colonial administrator who served as the governor of the British American colonies of Massachusetts Bay and the Bahamas. He is best known for his role in organizing the successful capture of Louisbourg during King George's War, and for his role in managing military affairs during the French and Indian War. He spent most of his years in the colonial administration of British North America working to defeat New France, but his lack of formal military training led to political difficulties and his eventual downfall. Politically well connected, Shirley began his career in Massachusetts as advocate general in the admiralty court, and quickly became an opponent of Governor Jonathan Bel… more »

Overthinking things that have no solution
Fewer options beat this mental pollution
Every detail is a huge contribution
Never ending questions with no resolution
We may each just be an attribution
To the far bigger picture of evolution
It's their institution, our worthless revolution
Leading us to our own prosecution
Self execution is helping our retribution
But no, we're just an experimental substitution
A quick test, but they thought we would have easy dissolution

The scientist is bigger than what we know
It can't just be a coincidence
It seems impossible but how could this be so
If there wasn't some kind of existence

The scientist is bigger than what we know
It can't just be a coincidence
It seems impossible but how could this be so
If there wasn't some kind of existence

I don't know what I believe
Whatever it is there's always more to receive
There's too much to know and too much to compare
In fact we don't actually know how much is really there
Heads clouded by pollution, storage full from their covers
Brains so densely populated of that option or those others
It's either something or nothing it can't be both
But maybe it can, maybe there is, the problem is we'll never know

The scientist is bigger than what we know
It can't just be a coincidence
It seems impossible but how could this be so
If there wasn't some kind of existence

The scientist is bigger than what we know
It can't just be a coincidence
It seems impossible but how could this be so
If there wasn't some kind of existence

What is reality?
Who is in control?

The scientist is bigger than what we know
It can't just be a coincidence
It seems impossible but how could this be so
If there wasn't some kind of existence

The scientist is bigger than what we know
It can't just be a coincidence
It seems impossible but how could this be so
If there wasn't some kind of existence
