People say I inspire them
But I can't give myself that same motivation
People say, Oh you still got it
Which means they thought you lost it
Alright, I think I'm ready for you to judge me now
Looking up to your idol
While you remain idle
How are people living their best lives but still suicidal
Kids these days only care about going viral
But I post too so
What do I know
Looking through my feed not getting fed
Overthinking these comments in my head
Releasing content to keep me content
I feel dead
I wonder if they knew the impact would it still get said
Just listen to these words
Never was a sheep just wanted to be heard
Overthinking every word
New day, new stage
Trying to get rid of the rage
Sometimes I feel like I'm stuck in a cage
Going set to set
Seeing stars, but not in a daze
Used to blow my mind
But now, I'm not so amazed
Putting up walls, I'm in my own maze
Constantly overthinking every time I'm on stage
Damn... I miss the old days
When they would play triumph on replay
Now I never sleep
Up scrolling like the credits
I don't regret it
If I said it I meant it
I work hard, Im not gifted
I can't be swifted
I was a swift kid
Made it out each scuffle
Always had that hustle
Listen to my tracks on shuffle while I shuffle
Didn't like the hand I was dealt
So I had to switch it up
Didn't care how they felt
Now to my people, we need help
When you're fighting for your voice
Sometimes you gotta yell
Hopefully, we prevail
I can't breathe, gotta inhale
Feeling like I'm in Hell
My Inner Thoughts
I went from walking my grandma down stairs
To walking my mom up them
I see friends screen calls with family members
That I can only see on a screen now
It's funny, family pictures get the least likes
But they mean the most
What you think of me
Or how you see me... I never fear it
Well, you know a lie when you hear it
No ghost in my lyrics
Why would I write something down
That I never experienced
Black Lives Matter we all god-sent
It's funny have it legalized
But still have us in confinement
Say we can't swim
Used to bleach our pools
Tried to whitewash us before the film begins
Now I must confide
The one I love is on the other side
She loves me
My true ride or die
But often I think, when I look in her eyes
If I'm on the ground, I say I can't breathe
Will she let me die
Cuz I didn't comply
Or she stands aside
Letting the cops know what
I'm a stand up guy
Well, what do you see when you stand by me
A man, with equal opportunity
Hoping that's true
Don't judge me and I won't judge you
No X gene but we feeling like mutants
Have pride in your badge, just don't abuse it
They don't want us to survive
Late night drive
Cap off, put it to the side
Hands up
I just wanna be alive
Don't wanna die
You ask for my ID
Now, my family's gotta ID me
Killing us... while we detained
But detaining mass shooters
Letting them walk with some loose chains
Isn't that strange
We come so far but haven't changed
But what do I know
Black and white so I can't complain
But it's not black and white
Let me explain
Not black, or white enough for the game
Growing up was tough
Mama always said
Junior keep your head up
Just listen... understand their side and don't interrupt
No more distractions, welcome to the masters
Shooting my shot
Opening up all I got
I ain't gonna stop
time's flying tick tok
Don't let this flop
I'm here to stay whether you like it or not
Giving you a little
So you can tell your friends it's a bop
Just saw a cop, all the fun stop
Turn down the volume before you end up in a plot
Don't wanna become a hashtag 'cuz of a scared cop
Maybe if I become a hashtag, I'll go viral
I just wanted to say thank you guys for listening to my music
This is my first album
It's weird, like, allowing other people to hear your thoughts
My goal is to make music that makes people feel
And not only that
But just to let you understand me
I appreciate your time
and enjoy the rest of the album
