Upon reflection, there's so much life I've been living
I don't take the time to appreciate what I'm given
I want to just slow down and process all of these memories
But how can I slow down when there is someone who needs me

I don't know where this road's leading
But I know that when I'm bleeding
I don't trust myself to listen

You tell me the burden is light, then why do I struggle
To carry the load of my friends still facing trouble
It's hard to be thankful for all this good that I'm seeing
When the people I love most are still desperately needing

I can't turn their hearts to listen

There's something in me that keeps me up and moving
A ticking clock that won't let this dude stop grooving
And even though the success it brings is soothing
I'm not too sure it is good that I am doing
All this, could be for myself
