He gazed upon the early morning, his eyes fixed on the prize
His brilliantly coordinated plan relied on size
The sun beat on his pileum as he fearlessly took flight
Upon the rocks a shadow cast his beauty and his might

Delusions of grandeur flowed up when from out of nowhere came
The ambush that blindsided him, yes his pride was all to blame
Plasticity won his body when they bent it out of shape
Spastic and disorderly insane was his escape

Unfazed and crazed he escalated and rose up to the top
On the way more challengers for they knew they couldn't stop
one by one he picked them off and the fallen he did mock
Victory had blinded him as the last came like a shock!

He gazed upon approaching evening his head hung in defeat
Moonlight danced on the horizon, the day was now complete
His worthy adversary stood like a king, all he could see
A pileated silhouette and expressions of it's glee

Tomorrow is a brand new day!
