A feller comes to Lloyd Sinclair Proposes a job down south He says "Come with me, and there won't be No more crops or cows for you to see" So Lloyd kisses his wife and vows to Return home with pay Makes a promise to his boy And off he goes ridin' away They arm and go board the train Danger's steaming ahead The wanted posters say "Three Grand For the Johnson Brothers- dead or alive" Now Lloyd he knew ‘em good He used to work on their ranch They all but pay him fair for his sweat and blood But now they're gonna pay well The man who became legend With no more than his heart Is a poor Yankee farmer Who's never held a gun His name's Lloyd Sinclair And he is so petrified But he's made a promise And a promise he will keep So they arrive In a town near their camp Everyone warns them not to go after the gang Yet they keep pushing through They scout and soon find out It's a gang of twelve, not two Feller flees and leaves Lloyd To face them alone, or die doing so The man who became legend With no more than his heart Is a poor Yankee farmer Who holds a promise and a gun And as he goes for the brothers The older one knocks him down Lloyd shoots in his guts and The younger one takes out his gun Now a duel is all they've left And Lloyd's foe is of soul bereft A faster gun, yet he's outgunned For when Lloyd draws it's for his son The man who became legend And shot the Johnsons down Was chased by their gang And nearly killed but Men from all around led by The feller Lloyd Sinclair had Stopped them once and for all and Helped Lloyd keep his promise of Going back to his boy To tell him tall tales of heroes in the west He learned on the way
