This story takes us back to when I was just fifteen I was playing music In the Brooklyn punk rock scene My hands had Sharpie x's and A clunky pharaoh ring And when it slipped off I couldn't grab it because I still had to sing The show always continues so I kept strumming on But without my pharaoh ring my finger Knew something was wrong That was when a reflection shining Had caught my eye A man dressed as Darth Vader Held my ring up to the sky But was it really Darth Vader No I don't think so Cuz this man was white And he didn't sound like James Earl Jones It wasn't really Darth Vader No they rarely are But think how cool It'd be to play a show On the Death Star Somewhere in the set Darth Vader Put my ring back on I guess that makes us married in places Like Alderaan And when our set was over I had to give my gratitude A man dressed as Darth Vader that day Changed my attitude That was when I noticed That he disappeared I still wish that I thanked him after All these years I walked into the crowd But he was gone And now I'm reminiscing So I wrote this song But was it really Darth Vader No I don't think so Cuz this man was white And he didn't sound like James Earl Jones It wasn't really Darth Vader No they rarely are But think how cool It'd be to play a show On the Death Star A man dressed as Darth Vader A man dressed as Darth Vader Darth Vader saved the day Darth why'd you go away Darth Why'd You go away
