I'm awe inspired by her strength and her grace
She starts her routine, so much effort is unseen
She steels herself for fear of falling inbetween
Another day goes by, much the same as before
She often tells herself "this can't be it, there must be more"
When she gets with her friends, she forgets all her woes
I smile to myself, 'cos I already know

She's an everyday hero
Battling her way through the highs and the lows
She's got scars that she never chose
Her heart remains open, but her eyes never close

He works way too hard to be consumed by doubt
Still, he's quick with a joke, or to help a friend out
There's solace in the fact that he never will back down
But he wishes for more, something wholesome and profound
I tell him,  "my friend, no man is an island"
But still he stays strong, maybe there's comfort in silence
When he's at his best, he's the star of the show
I smile to myself because he must already know
