I knew as some point all that dust would settle
All that pot calling the kettle
Shouldn't have brought myself down to your level
I'm glad we met though
That was my first heartbreak the one I'll learn from
Sometimes in love you lose
Lord help me I'm still learning
We was just kids we had yet to see the world
I was young and naive precious like a pearl
Young hopeless romantic
I was hoping you'd chance it
One foot out and one foot in
You took me for granted
I wish I knew back then
All the things that I know now
I wouldn't take it personal
I see it different now
If they leave it really is their loss
Cuz they the ones missing out
I was a kid with my head stuck in the clouds
Now I finally hit the ground
Time goes by
Man it flies they ain't lie
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
I survived
In life, you either move forward or digress
Don't let the bad out weigh the good
Or you'll have nothing left
It's hard growing up
Cuz sometimes it just hurts too much
Always felt like I didn't matter
No happily after
Just tryna get through this chapter
Look at these scars
Life can be hard
They tried to tear me apart
Time to restart
They treat me like they could just blow me away
Like I'm made of dust
They say that first cut is the deepest
Now I just get papercuts
Highschool was torture
Still haven't dealt with all the damage caused
Internalizing no matter how hard I try to just laugh it off
My reputation was decided by people who never knew me
They threw sticks and stones tryna bruise me
I wish I never let it consume me
There's been a lot on my mind didn't get the chance to pen it down
Most of the people that knew me ain't really my friends now
I can't pin point what went down
I just know that I been down
Ain't a circle I fit in now
But I finally got a grip now
I wish I knew back then
All the things that I know now
I wouldn't take it personal
I see it different now
The hate you give is based on your own insecurities
Now I face the world with my head high fearlessly
There's more to life than all the material possessions
Wasting too much time tryna be something they would be impressed with
The only ones who matter already think that you're impressive
There's no point in living in the past cuz you can't reset it
It's hard growing up
Cuz sometimes it just hurts too much
Always felt like I didn't matter
No happily after
Just tryna get through this chapter
Look at these scars
Life can be hard
They tried to tear me apart
Time to restart
They treat me like they could just blow me away
Like I'm made of dust
They say that first cut is the deepest
Now I just get papercuts
Mmm
Ay yeah
Time goes by it keeps ticking on
I just wanna live cuz we don't get to live that long
We're only here for a moment
I just want the chance to enjoy it
So I can't let em spoil it
Can't let em steal another second of my precious moments
And they some precious moments
