Starting on Sunday and ending on a Monday
There were cyclists on streets in Dover
And the UK gained one more stray
But those cyclists still rode on

They were more than friends but less than lovers
Which was fine with the way he talked
And the way she listened
But he blinked with her every stare

It was November 1981
The leaves were fading 
And so were we

Nothing big, except for Wednesday
When a tanker made the mountains shake
And he kissed her with a heavy sigh
And her hair was only just to there
And his eyes were deep with caramel care

It was November 1982
The leaves were falling
And so were we
