I flow into my poetry
Words too deep for my diary
My pen is a deft swimmer
It navigates the depths of my turbulent mind
And when the waters withdraw I have left on the shore

It appears I'm losing my edge
It appears I'm losing my edge 
Though my edges are on fleek
My mind has been deep conditioned in the wrong school of thought
Hair slicked to a high 
"Puff-puff-pass" was the lingo
Jamaica, the location
Choice fruit was the Mango
And I had tried to taste it without getting my hands soiled
Came away with the conscience of a muddy school girl
Still, I had my bags packed 
Living on my own, making my own decisions
Suddenly I was grown 
Island living, isolated from my family
But a youth is bound to stray when they make their own way
Island living, between the devil and the blue sea
Eyes red. Shades on
Tell me what do you see

Like
I'm a young man and living the life is killing me
Artificial high through the night
But my days are low
That this money, sex, drugs is just filling a hole
That this huge gold chain is a noose around my neck
That I'm going insane just trying to stay ahead
That I'm using again, and I'm losing the game
Lost my one true love my heart is bruising again
Ostensibly, I'm fighting but not winning over sin
I heard what the choir sing
Heard what the pastor told me
But it's really always been a struggle for me to stay holy
I have all this knowledge but the wisdom is elusive
Apparently, turns out
Finished work means conclusive
And I was thinking
I need someone to talk to
Someone to say I got you
He said "Fear not, I am with you.
Take courage I am your God. I
Know the plans that I have for you
And I will never leave you
Holy Spirit is your friend till the end
Start from the beginning, I can take you to the promised land"
Father take my hand. Spirit take my will
