Analyse their policies before we give them our trust

They bite and chew, grind and swallow
While we twist and turn on empty bellies in a sleep so shallow
To fatten their pockets, our tummies were flattened
Our cloths they took, to keep themselves warm

To rule over us our votes they lobbied, only to Lord over us
They pretend to lead us, yet, with a tunnel vision towards their selfish interest

They say without a leader, ants are confused
Yet on their watch, our walls of hope and trust were broken
Our visions shuttered like eggs on the floor
Like ashes that fly back into the face him who throws them
Our trust in them came back hitting us hard in the face
So incompetent, one by one they failed on their promises
Quenching the only flame that kept our faith alive

I was told that you can out run that which is running after you 
But you can never out run that which is inside of you
And so one by one they each assume the throne 
Only to turn out like those before them
Give a man power and you'll see his true nature, this too I was told
In opposition they spoke against the ruler 
During their turn, they kept mute and the others too will criticize them
They toy with us as though we were curved dolls from the Bamboos of Africa Savanna

They will tell you
Don't you know we don't speak with our mouths choked with food
Hmmn but who leads the blind when the leader of the blind is also blind?
We may have been living by hope
But a reed never becomes an Iroko tree by dreaming
And although patience may be the key that solves all problems
It is a luxury we can't afford
And so tomorrow we will wake up to a new day
A day of transparency, accountability, leadership, success and expectations
So today we inspire change with our words 
And although we may be commoners 
We are powerful because our words are our weapons
And it is only a man that uses force that is afraid of reasoning 
And so for us we will speak today with our words
That they may inspire and effect the change we want
No one can give us what we want but ourselves
For it is the man who lies by the fire that knows how hot it is

No more gaps 
No more secrets 
No more failures
No more conspiracies
Lead us well and we'll follow
Mislead us and we'll take back our support
For we are rising
Let the army rise
