Been a minute since we kicked
But you've been on my mind
Haven't seen you around
Who you're spending all your time on
I've been doing great without you
But now my every thought's about you

I see a light up in the sky
It's going so fast yet so high
So I lean my head back and close my eyes

I thought I saw a shooting star
Or was it just a plane
And baby I don't know where you are
I just hope we're not too late
The night is cold in California
But I still want us wishing on ya
I thought I saw a shooting star
But maybe it was just, maybe it was just a plane
Maybe it was just a plane

Tell me if I'm too straightforward
But I like to get my way
Nothing wrong with being honest
Even if you don't feel the same
I turn away, you pull me closer
I lean my head right on your shoulder
We talk for hours, speak real slow
Cruisin' real fast, no radio
But tonight I'm happy you're all alone

I thought I saw a shooting star
Or was it just a plane
And baby I don't know where you are
I just hope we're not too late
The night is cold in California
But I still want us wishing on ya
I thought I saw a shooting star
But maybe it was just, maybe it was just a plane
Maybe it was just a plane

We could be nothing at all or everything
And I know that I could fall for anything
But there's a reason why you're stuck here on my mind tonight
So if I should crush your mind
I'm thinking that was probably right
'Cause I

Thought I saw a shooting star (hey)
Or was it just a plane (was it just a plane)
And baby I don't know where you are
I just hope we're not too late
The night is cold in California
But I still want us wishing on ya
I thought I saw a shooting star (hey)
Or was it just a plane (maybe it was just a plane)
And baby I don't know where you are
I just hope we're not too late
The night is cold in California
But I still want us wishing on ya
I thought I saw a shooting star
But maybe it was just, maybe it was just a plane
Maybe it was just a plane
Maybe it was just a plane
