It’s hard to believe, yet over me a clear, blue sky appears now.
Born in helplessness, a seed of great impatience sprouts in me and starts to grow.
Even so, as if to laugh at our cowardly souls,
innumerable eyes are staring us down.

I can see the fragile souls that have broken down a thousand times,
and I embrace them all.
I’ll hold them tight till the day they turn to ashes.

I have swallowed much more grief than I could hope to bring to mind,
but its colors fill me.
They shape and rebuild me.
That’s how I’ve lived all of this time.
One by one, just like the breaths I take,
my scars accumulate.
They’re all over my hands and I now understand
that these are the kind that will remain until I die.
They’re the proof that will move me to crush fear and fight this war.
I’ll engrave them in me and walk beside them once more.

Like a hanging shadow, I feel an emptiness tame itself and bind itself to me.
As if tending to a wound that will endlessly bleed,
it tempts me into throwing in the towel.

I can feel the endless weight of regret consume me day by day,
but even so, I know
that there’s a light somewhere that’s flickering and blinding.

Even if all of the hope that I have gathered in my eyes
will one day shatter, grow muddy and blacker
until it’s completely and wholly changed,
then to drown out all of the whispers of distorted discontent,
I hear a voice bellow from the depths of the soul
that all the tomorrows we’ve received are all meaningless.

If I had just stayed still, sat, and waited for it to finally come to an end,
then I’d be living free of all of my regrets.
Fighting against the shadows, I choose tomorrow,
and claim it as my own for all of time.
How my heart longed for the wonder of your resplendence.

I have messed up, regrets hold me down,
I’ve feared for tomorrow, and I have scars now,
but I can’t share this feeling, no.
It’s a pain that I must bear alone.
