They say we're criminals for our syllables and stanzas
But the truth is what matters over any wishful answers
Cos Poetry is a form of resistance and rebellion
From the time of Aristotle to the plight of Palestinians
Yet they Obfuscate the truth, vindicate for freedom
Keep our necks covered in boots, eliminate our fiefdom
It's not often that we look back throughout history
But it shouldn't be me teaching you lessons of humanity
Compare the massacres of people from the dawn of time
It's a tragedy we haven't learnt it's a repeating crime
Genocide, mass death, the shutting down of life
Dreams of innumerable souls Gone in the blink of an eye
It could have been you and me
any of our family
Any point of history
suffering from atrocities
We could have been a black man working plantation
Seeing our families killed, slaves to a white nation
We could have been in Bosnia as the militias arrived
and killed every single man woman and child
We could have been in Germany as peace loving Jews
Exterminated by the evil in world war 2
We could have been in the twin towers as they burned and fell
We could have been anywhere on earth that man turned into hell
So many variations of skin, so many of could have been kin
Our eyes can see spectrums of colours but not the spirits within

Yet we still continue the patterns, thousands of years later
Money power and empire are still something to savour
The strong kill the weak, instead of offering a hand
Success off the backs of others they keep us kneeling as they stand
We live in a so called civilised age
So why are there still kings and queens? It's not so hard to gauge that
Civilisation is an illusion for the masses
So the ones in power can keep the people stuck in their classes

They make us believe that they saved us from the abyss
When in reality we don't even need them to exist
They're just flesh and bone like anyone else on this earth
With money and power for no reason other then their birth
Monarchies and governments see their people in the same way
Commodities to use abuse and throw away
Leaders of the world are totalitarian
We need leaders for the people, egalitarians
No more vilifying victims of oppression and injustice
I believe in my heart if we work together we can stop this
One innocent death is enough to give us incentive
Too many deaths around the world that could have been prevented
Influential figures only care about themselves
stop looking to celebrities who only care about what sells
Stop looking to online tv hosts with no souls
Using the horrors in the news cycle to monetize their shows
They have no care of the pain and the despair
Whether it's a child or a woman it's all just content to share
Recently I've spent a lot of time Philosophising pain
Trying to quantify why we never go against the grain

Are we doomed to repeat these trends until our extinction
Are the differences between us so vast it's beyond comprehension
Cos it's an affliction
An addiction to destruction
No restriction to our conviction in Expeditions and acquisitions
our impositions cause devastation and oppression to millions in succession
Let's question the depression and work on the prevention
These cycles of violence need to be burnt into flames
They need To be buried in the ashes of our genetic shame
Liquidate the assets that contribute to the pain
Make it so only justice and humanity remain
Provide quality equality to every single life
Globalise the common goals of reaching the Devine

I'm not talking about religion or finding your lord
I'm talking about the divinity that resides within us all
Someway, I'm gonna find peace in my lifetime
Someday, I'm gonna show my kids a free Palestine
Someway, equality will be easy to find
Someday, we'll all be riding the wave of the sublime
It's not out of reach, we can absolutely find bliss
The cycle ends here

We must be better than this
