Then, next week, relocated, to a cemetery
February 4th, 2007, woke up, not knowing
Thought you was upstairs, sleeping
'til the the cops started knocking
I was scared, unprepared
For what I was about to hear
Maybe, they made an arrest
Wouldn't think you took your last breath
Then, they brought up your name
Went to your room, and realized you never came
Remember shaking, as they explained
Found an older ID, and they said that's him
Early that morning, was involved, in a fatal accident
Was coming from, Super Bowl festivities
Almost made it home, 5 minutes away, literally
Remember giving you that shirt, that wore that night
To a few hours later, saying Rest in Peace, Dwight
Crazy, right
I remember
I remember that smile on your face
Just want you to come back
But, I know that you're in a better place
I wish we had more time
I just miss you
I talked to, I talked to Dwight on his last night
Before he walked out the door, he was only 24
Then, he died before the sun rised
When I got the news, that was the last time I cried
I broke down, crying
Everybody screaming
Already reminiscing
Can't believe, I lost my cousin
Would've never seen it coming
He was young, was about to turn 25 on the 7th
Now, making funeral arrangements
Couldn't watch the Super Bowl
I was laying in the dark, with my eyes closed
Listening to sad songs
Hoping that this all here, was a nightmare
And, by night time, he would reappear
He never did
Thinking, if that night he never left the crib
Or, if they crashed, and he actually lived
The next day
I went to school, nobody knew
I had a game, too
But, I pushed through in honor of you
I remember
I remember that smile on your face
Just want you to come back
But, I know that you're in a better place
I wish we had more time
I just miss you
Bring us home, Brechai
You're really gone, and
Still, I gotta carry on, and again
Remind myself that you're safe
