Never should they have to beg for their spiritually and physically entitled rights as human beings
Why are there barriers to living in peace without systemic oppression and institutionalized discrimination
For her courage to heighten awareness and to demand parity with accountability, I salute Veda Tunstall and every oppressed community worldwide on its journey to discovery and healing
In this track, the lyric phrase "without question or pause" is a nod to Luther Vandross' 1994 interpretation of The Impossible Dream The Quest written by Joe Darion in 1966
The lyric phrase "proud" is a nod to the motivational call by James Brown and Alfred Ellis in their 1968 work, Say It Loud I'm Black and I'm Proud
The lyric phrase "rise" is a nod to Maya Angelou's 1978 seminal poem, Still I Rise, and too, the documentary by David LaChappelle in 2005 entitled Rize
