Lemme tell you a story a kid who's pops wasn't really wit him
Just three brothers and his mother grew up struggling in the system
Shit you probably heard before a common story that we living
Where you only get two choices and that's either dead or prison
So you better ride wit it before you turn into victim
Tae found dis out young streets influenced his decisions
Though moms was struggling she was hustling going to school and stacking bread
Tryna make sure that her babies don't make it out this city dead
Income taxes in the mattress she was planning it ahead
Project living for many years thought this shit would never end
Then one day she caught a break moved her kids up out this place
That bread she stacked up in that mattress finna finally set em straight
Got a job wit that degree things was really going good
Her kids almost graduated and they finally out the hood
Tae got everything he could want now it's fazo's on the feet
Designer clothes house in the burbs now the fam can really eat
Everything he asked for what more could a kid really need
But tae 18 now unc introduced him to the streets
See tae out the hood but the devil tryna meet
Evil don't discriminate usually preys upon the weak
Even though tae doing good the devil got him by his teeth
So he takes up tios offer a new life he's never seen
Started off slow a couple g's of tree
Got some money stacking now tae eating off the streets
Told tio put him on I'm tryna get off wit these p's
Now tae the hottest in the school to all the feens like whatchu need
Unc said if you pushing shit like that gotta start riding wit the heat
Showed him how to use that bitch now tae feeling like the man
Kids get strapped up it gives a power they never had
See tae fucked up the pound but it's ight he gotta plan
Started using that strap now to take anything he can
Now he's robbing runnin apartments the true devil dance
New client hit his phone said he need a couple zips
Tae suspect at first but he ain't even finna trip
Now bro pulling up but tae forgot it on his hip
All black charger lights off tae got his weight up in the whip
Brodie ups it on him said we going for a trip
Long story short tae called up bro now homie laying somewhere 6
But something snapped in Taes mind lotta shit been on his head
Ain't forget the strap after cant let em play him like a bitch
See Tae almost flipped the pound he off by one zip
So he calls up bro n em finna hit a quick lick
Niggas said they was wit it you ain't even fonnatrip
Got a shorty to pick em up this time he ain't forget the strap
Lick real easy walk up show the heat and take the pack
So they pull up to the alley lights off it's like 1'o clock
Started off slow being easy making small talk
Now they asking for the pack the kid saying money first
And before you knew it tae pulled the glock out straight out shorty purse
But the kid wasn't going he strapped up the same as tae
Grab shorty by the neck and the put the glock in shorty face
Told tae run the money or he blowing shorty back
So much running through his mind ain't have time to react
But the Devil took over next thing you heard was click clack
Brodie laying dead hurry grab the pack and hits the dash
Tae skirting off now so many thoughts up in his head
Over one ounce of weed he had to leave a nigga dead
Now he got back to the crib wonder how he gon live
Like If this shit catch up to him can he really do that bid
Thoughts racing can't evade em but tae asked for all of this
Now he stressing lord help him like forgive me for my sins
But not god it was the devil who helped with all of this
Few days go by he tryna put his thoughts at ease
He praying talking to the sky like lord please
Walked out the crib to clear his mind next thing he heard was sir freeze
Feds outside hands on ya head don't move get on ya knees
Tae tryna stay calm keep cool try and think
Now cuffs on wrist in the back of that limo tint
So much shit on his mind just a kid who wanna live
Wish he could go back 6 to the days they played as kids
But no time to reminisce tae locked up in that station
Sat down for questioning the feds investigate him
Tae staying solid know the feds gon try and play him
He asked why he's a suspect and why they had to take him
Then the feds pull out the paper his best friends on the statement
Like damn you could say we ain't expected nun of this
But if you rewind time tae was meant for all of this
A young black kid who grew up struggling in the projects
He had to get it how he lived which was trapping shit or robbing
A classic story of a nigga who came from section eight apartments
See the thing about this story is it tends to repeat
Same story different nigga same city different street
Different kid getting robbed same shoes on his feet
They can gentrify the hood but they can never change the seed
Only life we ever knew by 8th grade selling weed
Junior year starting moving up to pressed pills and lean
No role models we was products of the typa shit we seen
Senior year we was in it for real started riding wit the heat
By the time we graduated cuz facing life at 18
You could say we signed up for this but in my hood that's how it be
If I could say one thing I got some advice however
If he ask you to dance you better say never
A wise man once said dancing with devil could last you forever
