Cole on 2014[01:51.24]I listen to the whole album top to bottom[01:53.56]I don't skip the outro; the—the outro is one of the best parts of that album[01:58.73]Alright, back to this one[02:01.40]You know, I'd—I went to school for music production, music industry[02:07.85]I really wanna put it to the test[02:10.57]You know, I wanna—I wanna challenge myself[02:12.49]I wanna—I wanna build somethin' bigger and greater than the sum of its parts[02:19.45]You know, I wanna—I wanna expand my horizons, as they say (haha)[02:25.66]A lot of people say that[02:27.57]I try to—I try to mix up my own words and phrases[02:31.41]I try to create new expressions and new metaphors and similes and whatnot[02:39.03]Anyway, this album—I didn't use any samples, I didn't outsource anything[02:45.69]I have Logic Pro on my MacBook[02:47.79]I bought a condenser mic and a USB interface on—on Marketplace[02:52.68]You know, I—I composed all the beats myself[02:56.33]I—I used a lot of a lot of the free loops[02:59.71]Logic's stocked with some good free loops[03:01.32]There's some bangers in there[03:02.43]I—I threw 'em together 'cause I liked it[03:04.77]It's simple, but effective; it worked[03:08.04]I got some mastering software[03:11.41]I learned about the mastering process, and here we are[03:15.82]Shoutout to my wife, Lauren; she's also the photographer for the cover[03:23.80]Shoutout to Wvlf Jones; he's a very down-to-earth person[03:27.81]I grew up with him; he helped me out, uh, in the early stages of recording[03:32.98]Getting that confidence behind vocals[03:36.09]Yeah, you know, I'm really curious how people are going to perceive this album[03:44.30]How they will react; I want feedback[03:48.58]This album is called Proof of Concept because that's exactly what it is I mean[03:53.57]It's a proof of concept that—hey maybe—maybe I can get into the music industry this way[04:01.12]I'd love to work with artists, get out there and make music; let people enjoy it[04:07.72]Life's too short to not be creative[04:11.27]Yeah, aight I'm out y'all, that's all I got[04:18.77]I'll be back though, don't worry, I ain't going nowhere[04:24.50]'Til next time, Proof of Concept, 2023, Jett Lennon, dub V
