She took me by surprise, standing all alone
I offered to take her somewhere down the road
Maybe to the next town (some twenty-six miles)
I wouldn't have noticed if it wasn't for her smile

We rode and sang together and the moon grew higher
She told me about her story and the run away tire
The flower in her hair seemed to remind me
Of what I've always wanted my life to be

And I asked her, "Where are you going?"
And "Are you sure of what you know?"
She looked me in the eyes and said

Through the misty mountains, chasing clouds away
And finding hidden rainbows on a sunny day
Souring over oceans, her hand in mine
Our hearts like the tumbleweed, completely intertwined

She asked me, "Where are we going?"
And am I sure of what I know
I looked her in the eyes and said
"Let's go where the tumbleweeds go"
